About five years ago, a retrospective collection of the works of a modern artist named Lee Bontecou was released. This was a 240 page tome, costing about $75 at the time.
Bontecou was one of the artists that we covered in our Modern Art History courses in college, and I particularly liked her work.
At the time, however, I elected to wait and see if I could find it on Amazon at a discount.
And forgot about it.
Flash forward two years and I’d finally decided to pick up the book and pay the $75… Except I couldn’t.
It was out of print, and no local shops seemed to have it. Amazon sellers were offering it at $400.
So you can imagine my delight when while lazily browsing Amazon, I found the book… which had just had a second printing!
